Iva Vivian Reeder of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, June 13th in Edmond. She was born January 13, 1924 to T.F. and Fern Brantley.
Vivian graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a BS in Elementary Education with emphasis in music. She taught elementary music for over 25 years in the Duncan school system.
Vivian’s favorite pastime was traveling the world. When China opened its borders, she smuggled Chinese Bibles into the country hidden in the lining of her suitcase! She went on a mission trip to India at age 87, and to Honduras at age 90. She was a long-time member of 1st Baptist Church in Duncan, and was devoted to Jesus Christ since early childhood.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: TV, Dee, and Bill Brantley. She is survived by one sister, Tottie Carter Hartsell of Duncan; daughter, Sheri Reeder Ritchey of Edmond; sons, Jack (Sondra) Reeder of Tulsa and Ross (Vicki) Reeder of Kingston; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
