

Mrs. Alice Caine passed away on March 30th, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Alice was predeceased in 2007 by her loving husband (Bob) of 54 years.
She is survived by five children; William, Russell (Janey), Linda (Allan), Scott (Sandi) and Peggy. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; Jill (Kirk), Jane (Denis), Jonathan (Ivy), James, April, William, Robert, Emily, Matthew, Sarah, Spencer, Douglas and Jessica and five great grandchildren; Thomas, Reese, Ryder, Wyatt and Jared. Of her siblings she was predeceased by brother Albert (Clarice) and sister Floreen, but survived by sister Helen (Clarke).
Alice was successful in business with her husband Bob as co-owners of the Van Winkle Hotel (Cedar Park Inn) where she had the role of Executive Manager in charge of day-to-day operations. She was a gifted writer during the nineteen sixties often writing articles, which were published in the Edmonton Journal. For this creative writing she was honoured with a literary award from the aforementioned newspaper. Alice was a devoted and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and will be deeply missed as the Matriarch of the Caine Family.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 8th, 2013 at 1:00 pm in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 11111-57th Avenue, Edmonton. Following the church service interment will be at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with a reception to celebrate the life of Alice at the Cedar Park Inn.
All that knew Alice, know that she had a special love for children and animals. Therefore, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Edmonton Humane Society or The Stollery Childrens’ Hospital.
