On Monday March 4,2002 Andy passed away at he age of 24 years. Andy is lovingly remembered by his mother & father, Donna & Allen Conlin, his only brother Michael: Jesse who touched his heart; his grandparents, Martin Conlin, Denise Ferland,Shirley Steele and Peter Steele, his great grandmother Mary Gauthier; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Andy will also be remembered by many friends.
Andy was born in Montreal P.Q. on June 10,1977 at the Montreal General Hospital at 7:28 P.M. and weighed 6 lbs.10 oz.(But was almost delivered in our little Datsun B2 10) What a funny thought! Let me explain.
Al & I were only 16 & 17 yrs. old at the time. Of course not having to much money, Al drove this little blue Datsun. When my mom had called Al at work he came rushing over to take me to the hospital to give birth.
The hospital was on Mount Royal (does that tell you anything, of course not) which is a very large mountain, a volcano actually.(but no longer active). As we climbed that hill we hit a red light, our poor little car stopped, and rolled 20 ft. backward,Al put his foot on the gas we went 20 ft. forward, then back again. It was like the little train, I think I can I think I can, my poor mother was having a fit. She thought for sure Andy would be born. The things that come to mine when you think of a loved one. My dear Son...
On the day that Andy was born,he was greeted by all his family. Uncle Rick was there, grandma of course and dad, Andy's father. Al's greatest gift. I remember, cursing because Andy gave me such a hard time at birth, but there was Al, holding him in the palm of his hand and carried him to the anixous relatives in the waiting room. The proudest day in Al's life.Al decided then that Andy was to be called Ben . Ben was a strong name, Al said and Ben was to be Andy's name.Thank God Al came to his sences.
