Born on October 16, 1932, in Holguín, Cuba, to humble parents who worked the land, Armando spent his childhood in the Cuban countryside. Those early years taught him the values that guided his entire life: honesty, humility, kindness, hard work, and a deep sense of responsibility toward others. As a young man, he fought courageously for the freedom and well-being of Cuba, remaining faithful to his belief that every person deserves to live a dignified, free life.
Throughout his life, Armando worked tirelessly to support his family and serve those around him. Though his work began in the fields, his true vocation was service: helping neighbours, supporting friends in difficult times, and always offering a word of encouragement and hope. He was known for his love of conversation, his stories from his youth and struggles, his sense of humour, and his immense pride in being Cuban.
Armando shared his life with his beloved wife, Ofelia, with whom he built a home founded on love, sacrifice, and strong values. Together, they raised their children, Armando and Sonia, who were his greatest pride and joy. As a grandfather, he was a constant, loving, and inspiring presence. His grandchildren remember him as an example of integrity, strength, and unconditional love, always ready to guide them and support their dreams.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonia; his grandchildren, Javier and Eylin; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ofelia, and his son, Armando.
Armando will be remembered for his generosity, his spirit of service, his humility, and the deep love he had for his family and his homeland. He leaves a lasting legacy in every life he touched and in the values he passed on to future generations.
May he rest in peace.
