With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, teacher and colleague, Arun Passi of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He died February 10th in Medellin, Colombia, just days after his 48th birthday. We remember Arun as full of love and hope, including to his final days. Arun loved his family and friends, he loved life, and he loved to teach. Arun held a BA and LLB from the University of Alberta, and a BEd from Concordia University of Edmonton. He had recently traveled to Colombia to embark on a new path in his journey, and was hopeful for another fulfilling experience teaching English to Colombians.
Arun is survived by loving parents, Kuldip and Jagjit; brother, Anil; nephew and niece, Sameer and Savita. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles, Santosh, Krishan (Prem), Raj (Kanta), Pushpa (Ranjit), Prabha (Sunit), Avtar (Raj Rani), Jatinder (Shushma), Surjit (Inderjit), and numerous cousins, Sunil (Seema), Rajesh (Bharti), Sangeeta (Shiv) Rajinder (Jessie), Varinder (Nikki), Manish (Praju), Neeraj (Danielle), Sonia, Sheetal, Surina, Bobby (Pinky), Nimmi (Rajiv), Anita (Ross), Kim (Bob), Deepak (Francine), Nisha (Harvey), Sonia (Gurmit), Mona (John), Bunty (Shelley). Arun is predeceased by his uncle, Sat Paul; uncle, Partap Singh (Pritpal); auntie, Manjit (Joginder Singh); and cousin, Maninder (Narinder).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arun Passi Memorial Scholarship Fund for Education Studies at Concordia University of Edmonton.
