It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Barry Sanders, age 29, Saturday, August 22, 2020. He was born October 23, 1990 and has lived in many places all across Canada. Barry grew up in British Columbia and was known amongst his peers for his sense of humour and kindness. He moved to Newfoundland in his early 20's and worked predominantly in the hospitality industry. He lived with his grandparents, Louise and Fred Williams, and always took the time to make sure they and their surrounding neighbours and friends had all the help they needed. Two years ago Barry moved to Edmonton to work in camps up north, this was another adventure for Barry. Throughout his life Barry has always managed to display warmth and kindness to all walks of life. Barry truly lived life for those he loved the most and the simple pleasures of life. He always took extra special care and a watchful eye for the most vulnerable. Animals have always held a special place in Barry's heart along with the elderly community and his beautiful nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Croucher; his father, Stephen Sanders; a brother, Mark Croucher; and his 3 sisters, Chrissie Sanders, Stephanie Sanders and Lisa Croucher; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, friends and others whose life's Barry has touched are encouraged to make a donation to the Edmonton Humane Society (https://www.edmontonhumanesociety.com) in lieu of flowers and cards in his name. Due to Covid19 restrictions we will be keeping the service to a minimum and private. However we will be posting a link to the view the service online. Details of how to view will be posted on the immediate families social media platform.
He Is Gone
You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
