Born on April 29, 1984, in Edmonton, Bonita lived with warmth, joy, and a generous heart that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. When someone needed help, she was there without hesitation and without question.
She welcomed others with open arms, a kind smile, and a gift for making everyone feel at home. Bonita was deeply committed to making the world a better place, dedicating countless hours to raising funds and awareness for charities including the Edmonton Humane Society, Edmonton Food Bank, ALS Society of Alberta, and Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Bonita had a deep love of music and attended as many concerts as she could. She was always ready to sing—whether with her band, at karaoke late into the night, or on the road. She also loved discovering cuisines from around the world, often planning adventures around trying as many delicious foods as possible, from road-side food trucks to renowned restaurants.
Her plans often took unexpected turns, creating cherished memories along the way. Bonita was always ready for an adventure and made the most of every moment, bringing fun and joy to everyone around her.
As much as Bonita loved music and good food, her deepest love was for her family and friends. She was a steady source of strength and support for her mom and aunt. With her husband, Darren, whom she met through dragon boat, she built a full and joyful life, creating countless treasured memories with their two girls, who were her greatest pride and joy. She leaves them a beautiful legacy of kindness, generosity, a love of good food, and a touch of mischievousness.
With her quick wit and radiant presence, Bonita brought light to every room she entered. She will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and missed more than words can express.
