It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carolin C. Messerschmidt of Edmonton, Alberta, on June 10, 2026, at the age of 58. Carolin passed away peacefully after battling many health conditions.
Carolin was predeceased by her husband, John Hancock in 2018; her mother, Gloria Anderson in 2022; her father, William Messerschmidt in 2003; her brother, Darryl Holmes in 1994; and her brother, Robert Holmes in 2026.
She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Koenig, and son-in-law, Dylan, along with her grandchildren, Avery, Kees, and Harlyn. She is also survived by her son, Ryan Schafer, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie.
Though Carolin faced many challenges throughout her life, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and free from pain.
