Catherine Jane (Bedford) Smith

She is survived by her partner of 34 years, Brian Nowak; daughter, Catherine “Cat” Nowak; sister, Susan (Kurt) Williams; nieces Meagan Williams (Nick Fox-Gieg) and Catherine “Caty” (Benson) McCulloch; as well as grandnephews William “Bill” and Joseph “Joe” McCulloch and grandniece Beth Fox-Gieg Williams and her brother and sister in-law Joe & Cheri Nowak and her Nephew Victor Nowak. She is also fondly remembered by Brett Belcourt. Jane was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Catherine Bedford. And Brian's parents John and Lynn Nowak.

As a child, Jane was an explorer, experiencer, and free spirit. She was a friend to everyone, of every age, in her neighbourhood. She was born in Winnipeg, moving as a child to Edmonton with her family. After leaving home, her adventures took her to many locations in British Columbia before returning to Alberta in 1996. She met Brian in Langley B.C in 1992 and lived in Langley & Mission. Her daughter Catherine was Born in Mission BC in 1994. In 1996 Brian and Jane eventually settled in Crossfield Alberta and then moved to Edmonton in 2013. She will be missed dearly by her close family, friends and neighbors. Jane was a very caring person she would put others before herself, she loved to take care of her family and dogs.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
