With sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Charles Vaughn Jenkins of Edmonton on October 6, 2025. Charles is survived by his beloved wife Lucinda (Cindy), children Ronald (Janet), Brenda (Francis), Terrilyn (Sheldon), Christine (Allen), and Roxanna Bevilacqua (Peter). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Anjelica Crisanti (Michael), Kathleen Anderson (Kevin), Laura Jarvis (Craig), Jake Zabolotniuk, Hannah Zabolotniuk, Sarah Perry (Jacob), Ryan Jenkins, Ashley Jenkins, Juliet Bevilacqua, and Victoria Bevilacqua, along with twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by his father-in-law Edward Reinhardt and sisters-in-law Jo-Ann Donald (David) and Carole Lee Reinhardt (Peter).
Charles was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen, mother-in-law Gloria and grandsons Brennan and Matthew. He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, fellow musicians, and the staff and friends he made at Good Samaritan Southgate.
Charlie spent his early life in McLennan and Edmonton and attended the University of Montana in Missoula. He returned to Alberta to teach in various communities in Northern Alberta, making many lifelong friends during his teaching travels. Eventually he established a home in Salt Prairie where he lived with his family until retiring to Edmonton in 2017. Charles was well known as a passionate and accomplished musician, particularly on the steel guitar, contributing his talents to numerous bands and creating lasting musical memories for many. He was an avid reader who loved many outdoor pursuits including horseback riding, canoeing, and his Husky dogs.
A Celebration of Charlie's Life will be held on Friday, October 17, at 2:00 PM at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810 34 Ave. NW, Edmonton, AB.
Memorial Donations may be made in Charles’ name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
