

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved wife, mother and grandmother (Nanny) passed away peacefully while surrounded by all her family, on August 23, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born in Birmingham, England, to mother Jeanne and father Charles Bennett, Chris lived an early life of adventure in the pub managed by her parents.
She left school at the age of 14 and went to work as a typist secretary at a large brewery in Birmingham. Later she moved to a construction equipment rental company as their receptionist and this is where she met her future husband, Bob. They were married 9 months later in September 1970.
After 11 years of marriage and with two young children in toe, the family emigrated to Canada in 1981 and have lived in Alberta ever since.
Chris joined the Sturgeon Hospital in 1998 as a Therapy Aid with the “Rose Room” program, working with Alzheimers and Dementia patients.
Retiring in 2013 she volunteered as a care aid at Youville Seniors Home for 2 years. Since then, she has enjoyed travelling, gardening, dining out and especially spending time with her expanding family.
Predeceased by her mother and father, she leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Bob, her brother David, sister-in-law Valerie, daughter Karen, son-in law Mitch, son Richard, daughter-in-law Kathy, granddaughters Samantha, Kailey, Rebecca, Jessica. grandson Alex and her beloved cocker spaniels Toby and Bess.
A private family funeral has already taken place.
Chris will be forever loved, deeply missed and always remembered.
