She was born on April 8, 1948 in Red Deer, AB and raised around the Delburne and Leslieville areas. She spent much of her life as a pioneer for women in the oil field, being one of the first women working on rigs in southern Alberta. She cherished their farm in Mulhurst Bay, Alberta, her Corriente Cattle and her adventures on Vancouver Island and all the friends she made there. Regardless of her own struggles, her strength, courage and compassion were unmeasurable. She always asked how you were and offered to help others, often saying, “Hold that door for them or help them with that.” As she did not want a service, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Cross Cancer Patient Financial Assistance Program or the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The family is grateful for all the love and support from everyone and the wonderful care she received.
