She will be forever missed by her children Jennifer, Kimberley, Chelsey, and Clinton; her cherished grandchildren Charlie and Leona; her mother Margaret; her sister Valerie and her former husband Tom. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous extended family members and friends. Darlene was predeceased by her father Donald and her twin sister Arlene.
Darlene lived a bold and passionate life. Known for her assertiveness and honesty—with no filter but a heart full of love—she was the kind of woman who made her presence known and her support felt. A proud “mamacita,” she was happiest when her children were happy. Darlene had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel—visiting Cuba an incredible 29 times and making unforgettable memories in Amsterdam and beyond. She loved to be on the beach with a pina colada in hand or enjoying a glass of red wine. Her children remember the fun skiing and camping trips where she wished to "bottle up the smell of campfire and make it a perfume". A professional paralegal and fiercely supportive mother, she balanced strength with tenderness. She loved reading, speaking her mind, and loving her people deeply. Known to her grandchildren as “Grandma D,” she leaves behind a legacy of laughter, forgiveness, and love.
According to Darlene’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Please honor her in your own way, with a glass of red wine, a moment in the sunshine, or a cherished memory shared.
Darlene’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
