Dave is survived by his wife, Julie (née LeFebvre); his children, Valérie (Anton Fadic), Stéfan, and Robert (Joanne); his grandchildren, Charlotte, Benjamin, Sofia, and Martina; his brother, Jim; his sister, Diane; his nieces and nephews; his cousins; the LeFebvre family; and his many friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Kay, and his sister, Joanne.
Born and raised in Edson, Dave trained as a telecommunications technician at NAIT and built his life in Edmonton, where he worked for AGT and as a senior business analyst for Telus until retiring in 2009.
Dave leaves a legacy of kindness and generosity. He was well known and beloved as a compassionate volunteer, sports enthusiast, and coach. Dave was instrumental in organizing and teaching Jack Rabbit cross-country skiing to individuals of all ages and ability levels. As a father, he gave back to the Willowby Community League by coaching soccer to neighbourhood boys and girls. He served the community as a public speaking instructor for Christopher Leadership courses. Until recently, he headed the Rocky Mountain Seniors cross-country skiing group. He was very proud of the impact he had as a fitness instructor (Yoga and Senior Cardio) at the Jamie Platz YMCA. He was a dedicated student of Prana Yoga.
If you want to honour Dave the way he would have wanted, do what he did every day: go outside, go skiing, go canoeing, ride your bike, enjoy nature, and do something kind for a stranger.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18407 60 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB on Monday, November 16, 2026 at 11:00 am. The live stream link is
