Debbie was born on September 28, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario. She grew up in Scarborough, Ontario where she was raised and attended school. She was an incredible track star in her teenage years, holding an Ontario record for the 100 metre sprint. Upon graduating Debbie furthered her education at George Brown College and studied early learning education.
She was a natural born nurturer and will be remembered as an encouraging, sensitive and protective mother to her 4 children. Her path to having a family to call her own came from meeting her husband Neil at 16 years old. Through the years their love fortified. Debbie and Neil began to start their life as a couple in 1974. Her family was central to her life, and on February 21st, 1978, their first son Jason was born in Mississauga. The arrival of her son began her journey into motherhood.
In June 1978 Debbie relocated to Edmonton, Alberta settling in Millwoods with her husband. This relocation was motivated by the idea to provide a better opportunity for their family. On December 23rd, 1979 their second son Jordan was born in Edmonton. Debbie had her third son on April 11, 1981 and named him Justin. In the fall of 1981 she and her young family moved to St. Albert, Alberta. As a mother, Debbie longed to have a daughter and on July 30, 1986 her youngest Jaseena was born. Debbie also adored her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her joyful laughter, and warm smile. She will be so very missed by many but the imprint she left on this earth will not be forgotten.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband Neil, children Jason (Rakhee), Jordan (Teri), and Jaseena. Grandchildren Preston, Nixon, Nahla and Andre and her brothers Sonny (Debbie), Philip and Dereck. She is predeceased by her mother Olivia, father Hiram, mother in law Hyacinth and her son Justin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm from Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton.
