Left to hold dear his memory are his devoted wife of 58 years, Simone, and their two children, Danny (Dawn) and Christine (Chris); Grandchildren: Philip, Kyle, Mairi, Callum, and great granddaughter, Mylah. His brother William and sisters Helen and Sheena. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Christina Beaton, sisters, Myra and Mairi.
Don was born in Applecross, Scotland and grew up in Lochcarron and the Black Isle. He immigrated to Canada in 1961 and made Edmonton, Alberta his home. He was fond of sports: shinty, soccer, football, hockey and music, especially the bagpipes. He was a decent, kind and honest man, a supportive father and devoted husband.
The family wishes to acknowledge the staff of the Palliative Home Care Team and Norwood Hospice for their care, compassion, and support.
The family will gather privately to honor Don’s memory.
