

Donna Joan Welsh (Kenway), 87 passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by her family. Donna fought a courageous battle with both Multiple Myeloma and Alzheimer’s Dementia.
Donna was born on July 8, 1939, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Anna and Clarence Kenway. She married Mervin Ronald Welsh in 1960 after graduating from the University of Alberta with a Social Work degree. Donna took a position with the Provincial Government and worked with the department of Child Health for several years until she left to raise her family of 4 children. Upon Mervin’s passing in 1987, Donna began a second career as a real estate agent with Royal Lepage.
Donna will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had incredible artistic talent as evidenced by her drawings and paintings, her fashion sense and style, and her recent home renovation. Donna loved gardening and nature. She was nominated for Front Yards in Bloom many times by the city of Edmonton for her lovely yard and landscaping.
Donna is survived by her brother Daniel Kenway and her 4 children (Michael Welsh, Christopher Welsh, David Welsh, and Linda Kempster). Donna has 17 beautiful grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Clarence, her sister Myrna, her husband Mervin, and her second partner Leo Pernisch.
The date of the Celebration of Life has yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cross Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
