Douglas Gordon Mellor, “ Doug “ to everyone who knew him, was born in Preston, England. He was brought up in a Methodist environment with his two older siblings. His passion from a young age was football (soccer) and he idolized Manchester United FC until the day he passed. A career in the Royal Air Force began when he was seventeen, which continued for twenty three years. It was while serving he gained life experiences, excitement and his wife, Margaret. Together they welcomed three sons, Kai, Stuart, and Chris. Unfortunately Kai was taken too soon. In 1988 he brought his family to Canada, and with it a change in lifestyle which his work in NDE afforded him. He never learned to skate or ski. His feet were firmly planted on the ground except on warm beach vacations. Cold winters were not his style. His bucket list was not completed. Maybe in Heaven!
