Elaine Rachel Pytel

Elaine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and the core of her family. She made every event, milestone and holiday special. She loved her family unconditionally and was always there as a constant source of support.

She was proud to work as a Manager at Telus, retiring after 28 years. In retirement, she volunteered extensively, including as a Telus Ambassador. She sewed 100s of heart shaped pillows for patients to hold to their chests while recovering from surgery. She loved going to her lake property, travelling abroad, golfing, quilting and many other crafts. Her wide circle of friends were a great source of joy, laughter and companionship over the years.

Elaine passed away due to complications of liver cancer. The family wishes to thank Dr. Shelley Smith and nurse Angela for their unwavering care and competence. Special thanks to surgeon Dr. Khaled Dajani for his valiant efforts to extend Elaine’s life. All of these efforts afforded Elaine’s family and friends precious time with her.

Elaine leaves to mourn her three children Kevin, Jackie and Jamie (Joe), grandsons Nathan (Kaitlynn), Connor, Paolo (Jason), Leo, daughter-in-law Cathy, and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Milton in March 2025, her parents James and Clara, brothers Richard and Gwynn and many other treasured family members.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Memories Funeral Home 13403 St. Albert Trail, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
