With heavy hearts, the family of Evelyn Elsie Nilson announces her passing after a short but courageous battle with cancer, having bravely faced and overcome breast cancer twice before. Evelyn lived fiercely, loved bravely, and inspired all who knew her with her strength, grace, and unwavering spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Lenard; her children Jeffrey (Nicole), Bradley, and Amanda (Pat); and her treasured grandchildren Nolan, Myla, Quinn, and Brooke. She will also be lovingly remembered by her mother Vera, brothers Alan (Desiree) and Gordon, along with her beloved dogs, Moxie and Harley, who brought her endless joy.
Predeceased by her father, Willi Jungling.
A devoted wife, loving mom, “super gramma,” and cherished sister, Evelyn was the anchor and cheerleader of her family—always offering encouragement, wisdom, and warmth. Her hands were rarely still, as she was endlessly crafty, creating beautiful things that reflected her creativity and care. She was deeply passionate about travel, always eager to explore new places, and she found joy in every journey. Her vibrant personality was matched only by her love for the color pink, which became a joyful reflection of her spirit.
Evelyn was a constant source of inspiration—her life a testament to courage, resilience, and love. She loved fiercely, never holding back in showing her affection for her family and friends, and she faced life’s challenges with an unshakeable determination.
Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will take place at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 – 34 Avenue NW, Edmonton on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at South Haven Cemetery.
In honor of Evelyn’s wishes, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, so that her legacy of strength and hope may continue to touch the lives of others.
She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and light will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
