Rick always had a contagious attitude toward living life to its fullest.
I consider myself lucky to have been able to work with Rick and call him a friend. His desk was close enough that I could sometimes hear him on the phone with customers and vendors. He had a way to make anyone feel at ease, even if the subject was serious. Rick treated all equally, as if they were a best friend sitting at his kitchen table. He was a great storyteller, and his listeners laughed with him.  I don't recall Rick ever putting people down. Rick was honest to a fault; sometimes he would share a little TOO much! Rick had the energy of two people. He did not understand the words, " I can't." Rick left us way too early. Our sympathy to Rick's Family through this surreal time of grief.

Sending much love. I’ve known Rick for 50ish year. We went to school together from grade 1-12 and during that time one was never disappointed that when hanging out with Rick there wouldn’t be an adventure, many laughs and few tears.  Rick was like the brother I never had he was always there for me and ready to “sock-it” to anyone he felt had done me wrong!  I will miss your random phone calls, your laugh and hugs.  Wherever you are my friend I know you will be bringing laughter to those around you.  Many prayers to Rachel, Kendra & Keenan and the rest of the family 💕

I had the the privilege of speaking with Rick regularly for well over ten years. We would always be able to find something to laugh about and more often than not one foot would slip into the gutter. 
His lighthearted nature was definitely something to remember no matter how tough the conversation was.
Above all those conversations though was the love and pride he had when talking about his family. He was always quick to note that he got to marry his high school sweetheart! Then when opportunities came to fit his children in the conversation, his voice always sounded lighter. 
I will miss those conversations and send my heartfelt condolences to the Ahlskog family

I knew Rick since 2000. He was a customer of mine. I always looked forward to our visits because he always made me laugh….. a lot. He was always patient and easy to deal with.  He had such a great sense of humour and a huge heart. I feel so fortunate to have known you Rick. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace my friend! Rick and I met when he was 18 and I was 20, we soon became the best of friends.  We grew up together, although some would say that we never really grew up.  We shared many adventures, from fishing trips to riding harleys through the desert.  We even had brass name placards on the bar at our favorite watering hole.  Rick was one of a kind, he had a heart of gold and always brought smiles to every place he went.  You will be missed my friend.  Godspeed Rick.

There was not a dry eye in our household when we found out Rick has left this earth. He won the hearts of everyone who met him during the years our family was privileged to live on the farm, and he brought us so many campfire laughs and wonderful times. He always had something nice to say about everyone, and it was genuine. Our condolences and love to the family. We are carrying you in our hearts and prayers. 

Rick, you were larger than life. We sure had a lot of fun in the Halloween Alley days in Grovenor.

I met Rick several years ago where I first had the pleasure of working with him and remained as friends  ever since.  Rick, larger than life, could light up a room like no other.  Fun loving, kind, well respected and a sense of humour like no other.  Rick always had a way of making me laugh, no matter what.  It has been a privilege and honour to have known and be in his company. He’ll be missed but the memories will always put a smile on my face, not to mention the occasional chuckle.  I'm so happy to have called you my friend.

I was fortunate enough to know you from the time you were 18 years old. We had many laughs, drinks together.
Played baseball together, drank a lot after each game. Did some fishing & camping together ( no real fishing).
You were a great guy to hang out with, wore your heart on your sleeve, treated everyone the same and enjoyed being around people.
You had friends everywhere, well respected in the electrical industry and treasured by all that knew you.
I will miss you and consider myself fortunate I knew you and I was able to chat with you just a few days ago.

Rick will be greatly missed.  I met him 17 years ago and feel very fortunate to have known him. He was a great person and always knew what to say to make you laugh.  I will miss you Rick.

     I’m going to miss you Rick. A friend who was always in great spirits. Always smiling and happy to see you. One of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. I have many stories of Rick, but there is one special time I’d like to share with all of you.
     Many years ago we entered a team in a Curling Bonspiel at his home town of Wildwood., and stayed at his moms house  shortly after Annie Oakley had shot a Hawk that was raiding her chicken coup. As I recall, there was also a flooded basement waiting for Rick. Spending time with Mom that weekend was like spending time with Rick. She had the same zest for life that was imbedded in her son.
    We didn’t win a single game, but what a great time we had with Mom, his Brothers and all the Wildwooders. He was only here for a short time, but what a time we had while he was here.
