It is with great sadness to announce that after a long battle with inclusion body myositis, sensorimotor polyneuropathy, and diabetes, Gary Gregory Lallemand of St. Albert, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, surrounded by family. He was 68.
Gary was born to parents Mila and Lionel, on Aug 19, 1953 in Montreal, Quebec. Gary graduated from Howard S. Billings Regional High School where he set athletic records in both javelin and shot put before making his way to Alberta. He spent the next few decades building a successful career in Oil & Gas Project Management, and starting a family.
Gary loved being outdoors and pursuing his passions for shooting, hunting and fishing. Often referred to as ‘The Master Angler’, he had plenty of accolades to back the claim. An avid bodybuilder, accompanied by a larger than life personality, there was rarely a day when he wasn't lifting weights which led him to training at some of the most famous gyms in North America.
Gary is survived by his son Justin (Stefanie); daughter Leah (Cody); daughter Kassandra; grandchildren Ila, Evelyn, Harper, Sawyer, and a circle of extended loved ones. Gary is predeceased by his parents Mila (Wesley) and Lionel.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the St. Albert Youville home for their care and compassion over the past 3 years. It was evident that Gary was loved and treated as a member of their family.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gary Lallemand’s name to Diabetes Canada or the St. Albert Youville Home.
