

Born on July 5, 1925, George lived a remarkable century marked by faith, kindness, and an unwavering positive spirit. A devoted Christian, he was known by all who met him as a gentle and caring man who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. His life reflected the love, grace, and compassion that he so faithfully practiced every day.
George had a deep love for music and especially enjoyed singing hymns that celebrated his faith. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His warm smile, friendly nature, and genuine interest in others made him a cherished friend to many. Whether among family, friends, or strangers, George's positive and social personality left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
George was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Andries; his father, George Andries; his brother Rudolph Andries; his sister, Sheila (Hammond) Ingram; his wife’s, Aura Andries; and Irene Cloutier.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his sisters, Daphne and Ruth; his brother-in-law, Wavell (Vercell); his sister-in-law, Harriet; His nieces and nephews, Earl, Patricia (Paul), Cassandra (Paul), Charlotte, Robert, Darryl, and Roshan; His great-nieces Tricia (Mike), Shelina (Tyson), Keesha (Perry) and great, great nieces and nephew, Elyse, Naomi, Elora, Hope, and Kai; As well as his step children Sandi, Lucien, Richard and Angelle. He will also be fondly remembered by extended family members and many friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, encouragement, and faith.
Though our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that George is now at peace in the presence of his Lord. His legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 4:00 PM at First Church of the Nazarene 14320 - 94th Street, Edmonton, AB with Pastor Rick Burk officiation. Private family interment to take place at a later date.
