Georgie Ethel Alexander

Georgie passed away peacefully in the wee hours of September 9, 2026 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Jack & Ethel Kerns, the eldest of 6 children. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Joan Kerns, Kathy (Bob) Martel, Robin (Wayne) Depner, as well as her brother-in-law Lyle Ford and sister-in-law Patty Kerns. She will also be missed by her many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Alexander, her sister Jackie Ford and brother Gene Kerns.

Georgie was a secretary for the Department of Agriculture for 32 years. She and Bob were married for 25 years when he passed away from cancer. Her family consisted of her furry babies: a Pug named Maggie May, 2 Welsh Corgis named Ginty and Penny, as well as 2 Pomeranians, Jill and Desi. Georgie had a multitude of friends and kept busy doing puzzles, bird watching and volunteering at the food bank and Twice But Nice store.

We would like to express our many thanks to the staff at Shepherd’s Care Kensington Village for their exceptional care and kindness. Georgie had been on the dementia ward for the past 3 years.

A celebration of Georgie’s life will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 10029 99 Avenue Fort Saskatchewan, AB. on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow.
