Gerhart Garry Stenzel

Garry is survived by his children Joanne Shantz, Richard Stenzel (Paula), and Malena French (Clayton); his grandchildren Ashley, Melissa, Paige, Ryan, Brayden, Aidan, Tanner, Kayla, Rylie, and Julianne; his great-grandson Braxton; sons-in-law Roger Dammel and Grant Ambrosie; his siblings Paul Stenzel, Hedwig Schrempf, Kurt Stenzel (Pauline), and Ursula Webber.

Garry is predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Hulda (Berta) Stenzel, and his daughters Evamarie (Dammel) and Roseanna (Ambrosie).

Garry was born in Szklanehuta, Poland as the 3rd child to Reinhold and Hulda Stenzel. The family of 4 immigrated to Canada in Feb 1951 settling in Spiritwood, SK where they became a family of 5. As a teenager, Garry moved to Alberta and worked on a farm. Garry met Gale Forsberg in Edmonton in 1961. The two were married the next year and had 5 children.

In his later years, Garry was a resident of Villa Margeurite in Edmonton. Garry enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, gold panning and the Great Outdoors.

Viewing will take place at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 PM from Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
