

Son of Laura B Meyers and Sylvester P Coderre, he was born on February 27. 1929 on a farm near Richmound, Saskatchewan. He had 10 siblings and is survived by one sister (Helen Joyce).
When he was a teenager he went to Kelowna BC, There he found the love of his live Helen Edna Wickenheiser. They were married on June 21, 1950 and had 4 children, Cheryl (deceased), Kathy (husband Brian), Terry (wife Patricia) and Lisa (deceased), Helen passed away on May 25, 2014. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He spent most of his life in the trucking industry, first as a driver and as a manager at Chapman’s Trucking and later at CN Trucking. During his trucking years, he lived and worked in Kelowna, Prince George and Kamloops
In the late 70s he moved to Edmonton. AB to work in the commercial drapery business. He eventually moved back to the lower mainland in the late 80s and lived in Abbotsford until August 2024. He moved back to Edmonton in September 2024 to live with his daughter Kathy.
Gordon loved to golf, watch hockey and play card games (especially crib). He found that games were more interesting and fun if a small wager could be made on the outcome.
He and Helen spent many leisure hours camping in a trailer at Beachwood Resort in Birch Bay, Washington State. They made many long term friends with both Canadians and Americans at Beachwood.
Gordon was a devout Catholic and Knights of Columbus member. In recent times, his mobility issues prevented his physical attendance at church, but he faithfully went to church at home by participating in a televised Mass every Sunday.
