My first brother, my friend, my playmate, my confidant, my partner in good times and bad.  Always there to lend a hand, when ever I needed help.  Knowing Gordon was one adventure after another.  It would take a lot of books to tell all the tales.  One in particular comes to mind.  We were at the cabin, early one summer day and a woodpecker was sharpening it's beak on the stove pipe.  Gordon heads for the door, shotgun in hands and single handedly blows away the woodpecker and the stove pipe.  He was always fun to be around.  He was much loved and will be sorely missed.  He is in my thoughts and in my prayers.

My brother was wanting me to learn to cook for him lol but he asked me to cook pepper steak and put lots of pepper he said. Well I put lots of black pepper. He came home from work so hungry he just dived right in and started spitting and turning red and choking and says I didn't mean black pepper! Well thats the only pepper I knew then ahaha. He was too funny. He also wanted to teach Saber how to protect Donna and me so he comes in the apartment with snow suit and balaclava and gloves and Donna was suppose to say sicum! Well Sable was shaking Gord like he was dusting the floor with him and he is yelling "stop you dumb fker, its me you dumb dog".  Well we were laughing at him so hard we couldn't call the dog off. I will miss you Gord but I'll never forget you. Love you very much. Thanks for always taking care of your siblings. Rest now my brother and we'll see you later.

Dear Brother Gord, I have so much to say and so many good memories that I can't focus on just one.  Your sense of humor, generosity, compassion and love will always live on in my heart.  As will all the laughter and joy you brought to my life.  I miss you so much and I pray you found peace in God's loving arms.  I know you will be watching over us all because that's the kind of Brother you are.  I love you always.  Through my tears I say by for now until we see each other again.  And there will be a lot of tears, but that's ok because tears are God’s gift to us. Our holy water. They heal us as they flow.



We were walking on the beach and he stuffed some rocks down his shorts. Some girls were coming our way and Gord says “Watch their eyes”, as they got closer the rocks dropped out of his shorts. He laughed so hard and I was so embarrassed. 
We were sitting on the beach and there were caterpillars all over. As I opened my mouth to say something Gord flicked a caterpillar into my mouth. It went way in the back and I couldn’t breath, cough or yell. Gord just fell back and laughed. 
At the pet store he played tug of war with a monkey with an elastic. Well the monkey let go first. Gord wanted to get even so he gave the monkey a big wad of hubba bubba gum. What a mess. Gord was laughing as we were getting kicked of the store. 
There are so many memories but I know that he is saving his jokes until I meet up with him. Love you bro (the trickster). 


Murray & I were cruising on the motorcycle when all of a sudden this guy comes up on his bike and almosts hits us. He had red hair and was wearing a German war helmet with a spike on top. Murray turned, looked at me, laughs and said “Oh that’s my brother “Red””. 
Audrey placed a huge plate of pork chops on the table. Instantly all the chops were gone except 1, I went to get it and got stabbed with a fork by Gordie. He looked at me and said “You have to be faster than than”. Obviously you did not get between Gordie and pork chops. 
Love you Gord. Thanks for the many memories and laughs. I will always cherish our time together. 

Caught a ride home from the lake with Gord , Donna and Shayne in Gord’s brand new 1975 Toyota Corolla SR5 , Gord stopped at Clyde corner store and told me to pick whatever I want, bad thing to say to a kid! I chose 3 fudgies and a revell, by the time we got rolling through St. Albert I was sick as a dog and puked all over the back seat! I thought Gord would be so mad, but he just took it in stride! I’ll always love you brother Gord(Merc)

My deepest condolences to you Auntie Donna, Shayne, Tammie and the girls, my dad, grandma, all my uncles, aunts and cousins.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for my Uncle Gordie and all of the childhood memories our families have shared. Some of my favourite memories with Uncle Gordie were summer  camping trips at Owl Hoot cabins or The Property with my dozens of cousins it was always and adventure, something our kids will never experience lol. The tin-tin boat fishing and hoping I would get to go in his boat because he always had the best fishing snacks and my closest cousin. Tuffy the “stupid dog” as Auntie Donna would say, always jumping out of the boat trying to get the fish off the line. The flying slipper! Goodies! Popcorn soaked in butter and super salted! Big Red! Family  Christmas and being so excited to see what outfit he had bought you Auntie Donna “he had great taste” or you just rocked anything you put on, my style inspiration 101. Getting picked up for $2 Tuesdays at the St.Albert Movie Theatre was always something I looked forward to. How red his face would get when he laughed. I have so many other memories of you Uncle that make me smile or even bring me into a full-on belly laugh to this day. I love you Uncle Gordie and I will cherish my memories of you forever.
