Gudrun Bublitz

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gudrun Bublitz on November 9, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Gudrun will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. She had a lifelong love of gardening and a special passion for orchids and roses, which she nurtured with care and devotion. As a founding member of the St. Albert Botanic Park, she dedicated countless hours to creating a place of beauty and tranquility for the community. In 2025, her dedication was recognized with a Community Recognition Award for her outstanding contributions to the City of St. Albert. She also had a deep love of animals and cherished her four cats.

She was a kind and caring mother whose love for her family will always be remembered.

Gudrun is predeceased by her husband, Karl, and her son, Roland. She is survived by her sons, Detlef (with his wife, Edith) and Michael; her grandchildren, Tanya and Dillan; and her four cherished cats, Serena, Sheba, Sammy, and Carmen.

A celebration of Gudrun’s life will be held on November 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memories Funeral Home, 13403  St. Albert  Trail  NW, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada in her memory.
