On June 24, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends, Heather Joy Jeffrey passed away at the age of 68.
Born in White Rock, British Columbia, Heather was the second-youngest child of Sheila and Norman Pyrah. Her family moved throughout Canada before eventually settling in Tofield, Alberta. It was there that Heather met her husband, Ken Jeffrey. Together, they settled in Edmonton, Alberta, where they raised their six children: Kim, Jacob, Kelita, Eleazor, Stephanie, and Samantha.
Heather was actively involved in her community in many ways. When her children were young, she ran the Calder Play School. She also helped run Green Shack programs, organized bike parades, and coached T-ball and Coach Pitch for the Calder Community League. She participated in the Learn-to-Skate program at Calder Hall, along with many other activities that enriched the lives of local children.
Heather was a dedicated worker and provider for her family. She worked for many years at the army base, where she met many wonderful people, including her future son-in-law. She later worked as a cleaner for Edmonton Public Schools, a position she found both fulfilling and educational. Heather also worked at Saint Charles Church for more than 10 years. This role not only deepened her faith but also gave her children the opportunity to build lasting friendships.
Heather was predeceased by her parents, Sheila and Norman Pyrah; her sister, Norma Jeffrey (Cam Jeffrey); her brother, Pat Pyrah; and her son-in-law, Robert Sinkovics (Kim Sinkovics).
Her memory will live on through the many family members and friends whose lives she touched. Heather's children—Kim Sinkovics, Jacob Jeffrey, Kelita Jeffrey, Eleazor Jeffrey, Stephanie Lehr, and Samantha Jeffrey—and her grandchildren, Chelsey, Darian, Seaira, Marcus, Shantina, Alana, Aviah, Parker, Brooklynn, Rylann, Kaitlynn, Liam, and Owen; her great-grandchildren, Kyler and Liam; her brother, Shane (Donna); her sister, Sharon; and her numerous nieces and nephews will forever carry on her legacy of friendship, determination, and hard work. They will always cherish the memories they shared with her.
Heather's kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
