Within her family of 4 sisters and 3 brothers Hilda learnt to value hard work and productivity and blessed so many of us with her dedication to lending her helping hands whenever possible. Hilda met her match Sam Aardema in a church choir, was married and built a house and home for their 5 children.
The sound of knitting needles ticking together at the speed of light, spinning together something wonderful for loved ones or the less fortunate. The smell of fresh baked bread and other goodies welcomed you to her home. Feet scurrying around keeping her home and garden neat and tidy for all to enjoy.
Hilda had an unwavering faith in God the Creator and sustainer of life and was often found early in the mornings in quiet contemplation, prayer and Bible reading. She was courageous in thinking outside the boxes and highly competitive when it came to games of any sort. Time revealed that she could be extremely fun-loving, light hearted and wonderfully witty.
In this, her 87th trip around the sun she felt compelled to say…. “There is enough sadness in the world...Let us do our best to love, forgive and be happy”.
Hilda Aardema, a beautiful expression of life, brought light, love and life lessons to so many family and friends and has created a lasting legacy of love ...5 kids,10 grandkids and 6 great grandkids that keep shining on and on and on.
