Ian Robert Frankfurth, 37, of Edmonton passed away June 9, 2014 after his lifelong courageous battles. He was born January 15, 1977 in Chatham Ontario. Ian will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his parents, Robert & Susan Frankfurth; brother, Nathan; paternal grandmother, Ola Frankfurth as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Ian belonged to the Paralympic Sports Association and was an excellent hockey player; he was also an avid bowler with The Happy Bowlers League and was proud to be a “Treky.” Ian was also blessed with a service dog from Dogs with Wings named “Goldie” and was a great companion for him.
Ian would like to thank all the people who cared for him over the years.
A Prayer Service will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 7:00 pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 7508-29 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Dogs with Wings 11343-174 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 0B7 or to the Paralympic Sports Association 10024-79 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1R5.
