Imelda Pulido Ready

Imelda Pulido Ready, age 77, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.

She was born on July 26, 1948 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Violanta and Liberato Pulido. She attended university in the Philippines with the intention to become a criminologist but went on to study to become a teacher. However, by request, she was sponsored by her big sister, Erlinda, to come to Canada, so she didn’t get the chance to complete her studies. After arriving in Canada in 1973, Imelda went on to a 38-year career as a nurse aide at Alberta Hospital Edmonton where she was known for being tough but compassionate.

In 1974, Imelda and Vibart met on a blind date, and after many bouquets of flowers, she said “Yes” when he asked her to become his wife in 1975; they were married on July 24, 1976. The arrival of their firstborn son, Edward, the following year was the start of her cherished family.

Imelda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Lola), sister, and friend. She is survived by her:

● Husband of 49 years, Vibart;

● Children, Edward, Donna, & Christine;

● Grandchildren, Mya, Aleena, Oliver, & Finn; and

● Siblings, Erlinda, Roberto, Ricardo, Elinita, Leah, Rebecca, Jade, & Noel.

She was predeceased by her parents, Violanta & Liberato Pulido, and her brother, Liberato Pulido Jr.

Imelda was happiest when she was spending time with her loved ones, being crafty and creative, tending to her garden and houseplants, watching movies, reading, and playing on her iPad. She had an everlasting love for her beloved fur baby, Rocky, who shared the same kind of love for her as she had for him. She missed him dearly.

Imelda has left us in body but not in spirit as she lives on in those she loved.

A visitation will be held on February 14, 2026, at 9:30 am at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, located at 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB.

The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am.

Interment will take place on February 14, 2026, at 3:00 pm at St. Stephen's Cemetery, 20303 Meridian St NW, Edmonton, AB.
