

Jane was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. When she was a young girl, she lived with her family in Oshawa, Ontario and then Fort Saskatchewan and Ardrossan, Alberta where she was raised and received her education.
Jane graduated with Honours in Food Service and Nutrition Management from NAIT in 1998. She worked with distinction and dedication for over 24 years as a supervisor in Food Services and Patient Support Services in hospital and extended care settings primarily in Kamloops and Kelowna.
Jane’s life was filled with compassion, creativity and grace. A devoted animal lover and gentle soul, she touched the hearts of many. She was an avid reader and had a passion for both food and fitness, always finding joy in preparing delicious meals and desserts. Her artistic flair and natural eye for style were evident in the clothes she wore and in every space she touched.
Jane enjoyed helping others in need and her gentle nature, warm heart and keen sense of humour enabled her to make friends wherever she went.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother Mary (Joe) Herman, siblings Iain (Barbara) Sproull, Jim Sproull (Elaine), and Nancy Sieja, as well as numerous extended family and many close friends.
Predeceased by her father Donald (Sylvia) Sproull and her brother-in-law Richard Sieja.
A Celebration of Jane’s Life will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025 at 10:00 am at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 – 34 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s honour may be made to your local SPCA or Food Bank.
Jane will be missed dearly and remembered always.
