Jean-Claude Louis Francois Dourte

Jean-Claude was born on December 27, 1939, in Liège, Belgium. He was the eldest child and grew up alongside his siblings, Anne Marie, Nadine, Danielle and Alain. In 1977, Jean-Claude and his family immigrated to Canada in search of new opportunities and a better future. Through hard work, determination, and faith, he built a life centered on his family and his devotion to God.

Jean-Claude was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest priority was always his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for them, often taking on additional employment when finances were tight, believing that every sacrifice was worthwhile if it helped those he loved. He never sought recognition for his efforts, quietly giving of himself with humility and unwavering dedication.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jean-Claude lived his beliefs every day. His journals reflect a deep trust in the Lord, sincere gratitude for life's blessings, and an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ. He faithfully prayed and fasted for his family's well-being, sought the Lord's guidance in every important decision, and found strength and peace through regular temple worship. He believed that all blessings came from God and often expressed gratitude for the Lord's hand in providing employment, guidance, and daily needs.

Jean-Claude was known for his calm, gentle spirit and quiet strength. He approached life's challenges with patience and reason, choosing peace over conflict and kindness over contention. His children knew they could turn to him for thoughtful counsel, a listening ear, and unconditional love. He led more by example than by words, teaching integrity, perseverance, compassion, and faith through the way he lived.

His life was marked not by worldly accomplishments, but by steadfast devotion to his family, his faith, and living a life of quiet service.

Jean-Claude is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Nadine; his children; Francois, Anne, Sabine and Pierre. His siblings; extended family; and many dear friends. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the sacrifices he made, and the love he freely gave.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare professionals who cared for Jean-Claude with compassion and dignity during his final days. They are also deeply grateful to the many family members, friends, and members of their church community for their prayers, kindness, love, and support.
