She leaves behind her son, Greg MacLean; daughter, Laurie Southard; beloved life companion, Ed Ledieu; son-in-law, Garry Drummond, and grandchildren, Teri Drummond, Alexander Southard, and Samantha Southard. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Ken MacLean, and daughter, Leslie Drummond.
Jean was born in Rycroft, Alberta to John and Mary Koziel, who had immigrated from Poland in July, 1930. She was raised on a small farm near Prestville and was the youngest child of four and the only one born in Canada. After graduating from business college in Vancouver, BC, she moved to Calgary and worked at Eaton’s. She soon met Ken and the two were married on July 16, 1955. They then went off farming, first near the Calgary airport and then Delacour, before moving back to Calgary in 1967. In 1991, they moved to Edmonton in order to be near their first grandchild, Teri.
