It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Jeffrey Robert Thomsen announce his sudden passing on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 42.
Jeff leaves to mourn his daughters Jayda and Isabella, their mother Stacie, his mother Linda, sister Joette (Pierre) Forcier, his grandmother Irene Kerr, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jeff was predeceased by his father, Larry Thomsen in 2001.
He was a member of the Edmonton City Police for the past 17 years and represented the organization with great pride. He wore his uniform with honor and took pride in being a positive role model in the community and bridging the gap between citizens of Edmonton and the police world. He was an officer when he was on duty, but a family man and regular guy as soon as he stepped out of his uniform.
Jeff was a devoted father who loved spending time with his two precious daughters. They were the light in his life, and he was so proud of the strong young women they have become. Together they spent much of their spare time camping, biking, watching tv shows and movies, cooking and building things in the garage. He introduced them to his love of football and the Seattle Seahawks. The passion for his team and football Sunday will be a tradition they will certainly carry on.
Jeff leaves a legacy of being an incredible father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, co-worker and a dear friend to many. He was a kind and gentle soul, the kind of guy that was always there to help but always wanted to fly under the radar in doing so. He passed on being in the spotlight but never missed an opportunity to lend a hand.
"Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory, they'll always live on in our heart."
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.
