On July 1st, 2023, a great soul in Joyce Lukasiewich (nee Krantz) departed our lives. But even in her passing she brings us together.
Joyce is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters, Christina (Dan) Brown and Diane (Jim) Rowan. The inspiration, gentle guidance, and deep knowledge she provided to her grandchildren Ava, Konner and Graydyn will forever shape their souls. She leaves her two sisters, Ellen Lupick and Margaret (Dave) Klappstein, as well as numerous nieces and nephews to carry the weight of her absence. She was predeceased by her soulmate and husband, William.
Joyce had a remarkable journey through life which was marked by adversity, countless challenges, and numerous, but often unspoken of, triumphs. We stand amazed at her capacity to voyage through life with a softness of soul and openness of heart. Her tenacity, wit, empathy and kindness, selflessness and loving soul will forever be remembered and cherished by all of us she has left behind.
Eternally a dedicated educator and lifelong seeker of knowledge, she embraced new ideas easily, and nurtured a deep affinity for nature. Joyce was also a gifted artist and a master of wit and eloquence, possessing a gift for captivating conversation.
In the tapestry of our lives, her memory will forever be woven, her spirit forever cherished, and her presence forever missed.
In lieu of flower donations may be made in memory to the Alzhemier’s Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
