Kathleen Belle Cameron

Cherishing her memory are her son, Blair, and his wife, Maryann; and her daughters, Caron and Brenda. She is also remembered by her loving grandchildren, whom she adored: Kelsey and Steven (Jennifer); and her great-grandchildren: Dillon, Dallas (Jeff), Aric, Taylor, and Hayden. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Annette Nelson. Kay was predeceased by her husband, Allan (Scotty); her parents, Marius and Ava Nelson; her grandson, Christopher Montgomery (Gina); and her siblings, Vincent Nelson, Sammy Nelson, Almeda Johnson, Violet Niblock, Andrew Nelson, Walter Nelson, and Nels Nelson.

Kay was born in Bentley, Alberta. After attending high school in Red Deer, Alberta, she moved to Edmonton, where she worked at Silverwood Dairy and met the love of her life, Scotty. They were married on October 6, 1951. After marrying, Kay focused primarily on raising their three rambunctious children, whom she loved dearly.

In 1960, Kay and Scotty moved to Spruce Grove, where she learned to drive. They moved to Edmonton in the late 1960s. Kay worked as an operator for Victor Comptometer, where she excelled and made many lifelong friends. Kay later took a well-deserved break to spend time at home with her family before returning to work at the Canadian National Railway in the 1970s.

Kay had a strong faith and was an active member of Pleasantview United Church, where she connected with people and built many treasured friendships. She also enjoyed several years taking aquasize classes at Hardisty Pool, as she strongly believed in staying healthy, fit, and social. Always fashion-conscious, Kay looked like a fashion model rain or shine. She held season tickets to The Citadel, which she shared with friends, was an avid reader, and deeply valued helping others, and volunteering wherever she could.
