I remember Kristina as a young girl. She was so bubbly and happy and that’s how I will always remember her.

My heart is heavy hearing of Kristina’s passing.

Her passion made a lasting impact; as a former dance student, I’ll always think of her when I hear ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ and ‘It’s Not Right but It’s Okay’ by Whitney Houston —the true soundtrack to the EDF years, the soulful space she created, and memories I’ll carry.

Kristina was one of my dance teachers when I was a kid, and she was such a memorable and lovely person. I was pretty young when I knew her, so my memory is spotty, but I remember her being very kind. Whenever I would say I couldn’t do something, she would push until I realized I actually could. I’m lucky to have known her, even if it wasn’t for long. She was so clearly loved, and will be remembered fondly by so many people. I’ll miss her. My heart goes out to her friends and family.

Having known Kristina for only a short time made no difference in how deeply she touched me with her brilliant light. I remember thinking at our year-end tap performance last year how much I hoped to get to know her better next year in tap class—that’s how magnetic she was. I never had that chance, but I’m left feeling inspired by her giving, kind, and incredibly positive nature. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

"Miss Kristina"... that is how our family will always remember her.  A most kind, compassionate, caring individual, always having time for others, always being the most upbeat person in the room, always smiling that amazing smile.  The way she approached everything in life, even as hers was compromised, threatened, and, eventually, coming to its end, makes the rest of us feel ashamed for how we take ours for granted, and every one of us should look to her as the true model of what 'living' is supposed to look like.   Our most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, co-workers, students, and may we all be inspired by Miss K to go forward with the type of enthusiasm, joy, caring and commitment that she exemplified. I feel so blessed to have met Kristina at the Stollery. She was such a bright light during my training and helped me become the clinician I am today.  I am grateful for the laughs, smiles, antics, and pure joy.

I am thinking of you all during this very difficult time. She meant so much to so many people and touched many lives. I will do my best to honour her and approach each day with the kindness and just some of the light that she did.

Kristina was our neighbour when we moved to Tamarack in 2013. She was the sweetest soul! We never once saw a frown on her face. She remembered the names of everyone in our household, which always meant so much to us. We were truly saddened when she moved to Sherwood Park.

I always loved her bright and positive personality, she was always a joy to work with. Seeing her working with young children in the hospital was to see someone doing exactly what they were put on Earth to do. My sincere condolences to the Family and Friends of Kristina.

Kristina was my dance teacher for many years. I have such fond memories of taking her Saturday morning stretch classes and seeing her around the studio. She was always so supportive and positive, and connected easily and sincerely with everyone who knew her. She truly was such a special person with so much kindness in her heart and a beautiful laugh that I’ll remember forever. Thinking of her reminds me of sunshine. 
I hadn’t seen her in many years but she was an influential presence for me while I was growing up and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to know her and learn from her in my childhood and teen years.
Kristina, you are so missed and loved by so many. You are such a bright light and I hope you’re dancing wherever you are!
