Laurette Marie Pauline Vansevenandt

Laurette was born in Edmonton, Alberta on August 12,1961 to Robert and Jeanne Belanger. She was their seventh child. She met the love of her life and best friend, George when they were at a graduation dance. They married on April 11, 1981, and moved to a family farm East of Morinville, where they later built a hog and grain operation.

Within their first year of marriage, Laurette and George welcomed daughter, Cassandra, in 1982, and in 1985 their second daughter, Stephanie. Laurette was a devoted wife, mother, granny, sister, friend, and farmer. Laurette was a woman of many passions including: farming, knitting, crafting, puzzle building, and her greatest joys, her two grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, George; children, Cassandra (Kurt) Hurtig) and Stephanie (Adam) Henderson; and grandchildren, Lexey and Paxtyn Henderson. Laurette is also survived by her mother, Jeanne Belanger; 4 sisters, 1 brother and 6 brother in laws, Pauline (deceased) (Roger) Berube, Louise (deceased) (Rick) Dubois, Annette (Joseph) Paquette, Jeannine (Cliff) Burns, Roberta (Ray) Bauwens, Normand (Val) Belanger, Rollande (Trevor) Fulton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Laurette is predeceased by her father, Robert Belanger and brother, Albert Belanger.

The funeral mass will be held Friday January 29, 2021 and is by invitation only due to the restrictions in place by the Alberta Government.
