Letty was born the oldest of 11 to Jose and Natalia Sta. Ana in Taytay, Rizal, Philippines on July 10, 1945. Leticia has always loved spending time in the kitchen since she was young. She had restaurants in the Philippines and was always known for her great cooking. “What do you want to eat?” is usually the first thing she says to her grandchildren. Then she would take the tricycle to the market right away to get the ingredients. She filled her big family with love and the best food.
She started selling clothes at the age of 16 until she met the love of her life. It was love at first sight for Licerio and Leticia. They got married at a young age on May 8, 1965. Together in 1972, they built the successful L&L Water Supply that helped provide clean water access to local residents and companies in the Philippines. Through its success, they were able to give back to the community such as food donations during Christmas to the less fortunate.
While we lost our most beloved Nanay, many have lost a friend and loved one in her. She was strong willed, had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and determined. Through the years, she travelled to many places including Hong Kong where she has brought some children and grandchildren, and the U.S. to visit friends. In the last decade, she has travelled back and forth between Philippines and Canada to be able to spend time with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always made sure that she saw everyone even when travelling became tough for her. She cherished her time with everyone.
She was preceded to heaven by her mother, father, two brothers, husband and her beloved son, Leslie Resurreccion. She is survived by her children: Lucy Pascua (Eduardo), Lorena Alcantara (Bayani), Levy Resurreccion (Lea), Lester Resurreccion and Loy Resurreccion (Jeanne); sixteen grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
“I love you 3x a day” as she always told all of her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all.
A visitation for Leticia will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
