Born on October 10, 1951, in Athabasca, Alberta, Lorna made St. Albert, AB her lifelong home.
Lorna was the daughter of Hoarce Hinton and Clara Brown (predeceased), and will be lovingly remembered by her spouse, Roger Plamondon; her children, Trina, Shane and Kelly; and her grandchildren, Julianna, Isiah, Coban and Naiya. She is also survived by her sisters, Marla, Kristine and Crystal, along with extended family, friends and the many people whose lives she touched.
In her younger years, Lorna opened her home and heart as a foster mother, providing care to children who needed it. She will always be remembered for her kindness, and knowing how to make children feel safe, welcome and loved. Lorna worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years, a fitting career for someone who understood the importance of welcoming people and making them feel at home.
Lorna loved music, laughter, mashed potatoes & gravy and anything coconut. She will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humour and her ability to work with what was in front of her. Her legacy can be found in the family she loved, the children she cared for and the many memories shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
In keeping with Lorna’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of her life will take place in the fall, with details to be shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honour Lorna’s memory to make a donation to a local food bank or another organization supporting people in need.
Thanks!
