

Mannar is survived by his two loving daughters, Sundra Chinniah and Roshilla Gounden, along with his two sons-in-law, five grandchildren, three grandsons-in-law, and one great-grandson. He also leaves behind many loyal friends and extended family members in both Canada and South Africa.
Mannar was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sakunthalay, with whom he shared a 68-year marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Mannar grew up in Railway Barracks in Durban, South Africa. He was known for being strong-willed and sometimes stubborn, yet he had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Generous, loyal, and brave, he dedicated himself to his family, friends, and religious community. Alongside his wife, he spent many years volunteering at the Cato Manor Hindu Temple, where he played a significant role as Chief Fundraiser. His efforts successfully managed projects that positively impacted the lives of many devotees and the broader community.
His wisdom, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held on [August 29, 2024] at Hainstock's Funeral Home, located at 9810 34 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6L1, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception.
