OBITUARY

Maria Olivia Carpio Jepas

24 April, 1972 – 18 August, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, daughter, and friend, Maria Olivia Jepas, who passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, on August 18, 2026, at the age of 54.

Maria was born on April 24, 1972 in Manila, Philippines. From a young age, she showed a natural intelligence and determination, excelling academically and graduating with honours. She carried that same dedication into her career in nursing, a profession that reflected both her abilities and her desire to care for others.

Maria was soft-spoken and gentle by nature. She rarely became angry and had a quiet strength about her that those who knew her came to appreciate. She was also a gifted piano player, and music remained an important part of her life.

Of all the roles Maria held, none was more important to her than being a mother. She was incredibly proud of her daughter, Georgia, whom she raised to be intelligent, strong, and independent. The love she had for Georgia was constant and immeasurable.

Maria lived life in her own way and on her own terms. She possessed a strong faith in God and held firmly to that faith throughout her life. Even during the most difficult chapter of her journey, she demonstrated a sense of peace, courage, and acceptance that deeply affected those around her.

Maria will be remembered not simply for what she accomplished, but for who she was: intelligent, talented, compassionate, quietly determined, and deeply loved.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Georgia; her parents, Ernesto and Gregoria; her brothers, Luisito (Michelle) and Vener (Virol); her nieces, Emma, Ellis, and Taytm; along with extended family, relatives, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her.

Although her time with us was far too short, Maria's life, her love, and the memories she gave us will remain with us always.

May she rest in peace.
