Our Mom had a great love for family, and her life was spent in service to others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and greatly desired to be involved in each new grandchilds’ life. There was no mistaking the twinkle in her eye and the natural gift she had for caring for these children. She was most happy when she was holding a baby, and with her gentle touch and loving way it was clear that she loved
her grandchildren more than life itself.
She was everyone’s friend, and every person, known or unknown to her, would have been welcomed into her home in the most generous and loving of ways. Always waiting for us would have been a wave and smile from the balcony followed by a table full of favourite foods along with some freshly made coffee. We never made it out of the door without filling our hands with cookies and candies!. She had an absolute heart of gold.
Mom was always full of energy and one of the hardest working persons any of us have ever known. Much to our amazement, she could work circles around us and then more and still not be tired! Her love of the garden and anything else that grew was a wonderful inspiration. She had a great mind, and her knowledge, along with wisdom of life, was beyond amazing, and we owe a lot of what we know to her.
Mom loved life, and she lived it to the absolute fullest. She had a playful personality and a wonderful sense of humor. People were naturally drawn to her and always took delight in the fun and thoughtful conversations. She was very young at heart and never backed down from a good adventure or challenge. Over the years she made multiple trips back to Lebanon and even went along on a few family trips, one to Mexico and the other to Costa Rica!
Most importantly, though, in her life was her unwavering faith and great love of God. She had a beautiful devotion to the Blessed Virgin, the Rosary, and a deep belief in the intercession of Lebanon’s most beloved saint; St. Charbel.
Our mom was a joy, she gave joy, and now she is being rewarded with the same joy and peace that she gave to those who she loved here on earth.
Our mom has left behind the most beautiful legacy, a legacy of love, and we as her family and friends have been made richer by knowing her.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who came to this special service.
