Marie Whiteside

Marie was born April 14, 1928, in Calgary, Alberta. She later moved to Edmonton, where she met the love of her life, George Edward Whiteside, in 1950. They married on May 24, 1952, and shared nearly 68 years together before George’s passing on January 20, 2020.Marie and George raised their three children, Brent, Linda, and Laurie, and spent many happy years at their acreage south of Sherwood Park. Marie was outgoing and social and loved singing, dancing, travelling and simply being around people. She and George enjoyed many wonderful adventures together, travelling across Canada and to destinations around the world.

Marie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brent, Linda (Bob) and Laurie; her grandchildren, Amy Thomson (Kris), Leah Michael (Adam) and Liam Whiteside; and her great-grandchildren, Alexandra Thomson, Hayden Thomson and Jax Whiteside.

Marie lived a long and full life and will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Capital Care Laurier House for the kindness, compassion and exceptional care they provided to Mom during her final years.

We take comfort in knowing that Mom and Dad are together once again.
