OBITUARY
MS. Melanie Miranda Malloy
13 November, 1979 – 17 January, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce that Melanie passed away suddenly on Sunday, Jan 17, 2021.
Mel was a wild and free spirit, in tune with nature, plants and animals. Music was her passion. She was generous and kind but would take no guff from anyone. She gave so much of herself to others and her compassion knew no bounds. She lit up the world wherever she went.
As DJ Fuuze, Vinyl Queen, Booty Shaking Beats!, Mel brought joy to many through her music. She also worked tirelessly behind the scenes at many underground music events as a promoter, stage designer and festival organizer. She was the heart and soul of AwakeNLife Productions, the Tower Stage Director at Reignbough Fiddle Arts and Music Festival, and Head Director at The TOWER STAGE. She had a regular stint on TrueNorthRadio, blasting out her creative beats. She was a legend.
Mel will be forever missed by her mother Wendy Malloy, her Love, Vinnie Leone, her brother, Jamie Malloy, her grandmother, Gwen Robb, her niece Elizabeth, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. And countless fans.
She was predeceased by her father, Gerard Malloy, grandmother, Jean Malloy, and grandfather, Dan Robb.
God has decided to bring his angel home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Last Door, Alcohol and Drug and Addictions Treatment Program would be appreciated. https://lastdoor.org/donate/

I first met Mel when she DJed at The Crown Pub. It was always fun to dance together and we shared a passion for Shpongle. She was not only fun to be around and always spreading happiness, but she went out of her way to make sure those around her felt loved, supported and important. In 2011, she came to the hospital after Maverick was born, making sure both parents and baby felt supported. During the anniversary of elderly friends D. and Ian, she prepared a special drink for them at the bar. She made them feel like they mattered and were important to her. Ian remembers her bringing in one of her amazing black light art images that she was working on for him to see, as Ian was also an artist. He shared with me how special she made him feel and how gifted she was creatively. Although we were not close the past few years, I know that she was a light to the world. No matter, this is a terrible loss to our community and very sad for so many people. If we could all think of one act we could do in honor of her spirit, it would definitely make the world greater and a more colourful and beautiful place. Thanks for being a good friend to all, Mel. P.L.U.R. Your spirit continues to shine on ((((*))))

A mentor, an angel, a craft ninja, a reign bough warrior, a bringer of beats, a soul sister, a visionary, a lover and a fighter! You will always live on in the hearts of those who knew you. The pain can not even come close to the love and that is how I choose to remember. Forever my partner in Spreading Love. Thank you for being you! I love you!

I've known Mel since we were just kids. From the moment I met her I knew she'd be my friend for life. Mel had this sparkle about her, she lit up any room she walked into and her laugh was so infectious. Mel had this carefree spirit that made her wild and so much fun to be around. She was someone I knew I could count on no matter how far apart we lived, I only had to pick up the phone or send a text.
Mel always wanted the best for everyone and always encouraged you to follow your heart.
When I was pregnant, she was one of the first I wanted to share it with and on our last visit I'm happy she got to meet my daughter.
And when Mel met Vinnie and introduced me to him, I knew she'd finally found her soulmate. The love they shared was so fierce and magical.
It pains me to know she's left this life but Her love and spirit will never be forgotten. Fly free Girl 🦋

I can’t properly put into words how much Mels friendship meant to me.
We had way too many great times, and way too many hours working side by side putting together some of the many projects she envisioned.
I’m sad that we had all but lost contact over the last couple years and didn’t manage to reconnect.
But, that never changed the love and respect I have for her.
She was an absolutely phenomenal artist both musically and visually, and an amazing person all around.
She will truly be missed!
