April 18, 1918 – June 1, 2011
On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, BRAD HARVEY of St. Albert passed away at the age of 93 at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans where he had lived for the past two years. Brad will be sorely missed by Doris, his loving wife of 63 years and daughters, Lorna and Joanne (Paul Shredder), and a very, very, special granddaughter, Breanne. He was predeceased by his brother Roy (1982), and sister Pat Dutchak (1991).
Brad was born and grew up in Edmonton and spent five years as a radar operator in the RCNVR in WWII on the North Atlantic. He returned to Edmonton after the war and worked for Otis Elevator Company for 36 years.
Brad loved his life, family and friends and was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. He was always “the life of the party” and loved to golf, curl and dance but highest on his list, was his care of his granddaughter Breanne.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Kipnes Centre care givers who made such a difference in his life, and special friend Shirley Monroe for her kindness and compassion shown to Brad.
A celebration of Brad’s life will take place on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB.
If desired, donations in memory of Brad may be made to The Edmonton Humane Society, 13620-163 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5V 0B2
