

Mike grew up in Bonnyville to Valere and Cecile (Boutet) Vachon. He was the youngest of seven children and grew up in Holy Oak, AB. Mike loved the outdoors, cutting his own firewood, and boats, planes and trains. He worked for the Canadian Coast Guard and later as a heavy-duty mechanic, he also loved woodworking.
Mike is survived by his spouse Sylvia Pirnak of forty-five years; brothers Emile (Helene), Jules (Annette), Rene, Paul (Cecile) and sister Aline Vachon; sister-in-law Helen Vachon; Granddaughters Emily and Paige Pirnak and their mother Tammy and Jason Roach; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special niece Carole (Dean) Torresan. He was predeceased by stepson Warren Pirnak, his parents Valere and Cecile Vachon, brother Antoine (Chuck) and sister-in-law Odile Vachon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2006 at 10:00 Am at Memories Funeral & Crematorium, 13404 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB.
