With deep sadness, the family of Mildred Lemiski announces her passing on May 24, 2025. Mildred is survived by her husband of almost 68 years, Al, and their children Kathy (John), David, and Karen. Mildred was youngest of the eleven children born to Fred and Mary Eleniak, all of whom predeceased her.
Mildred was a granddaughter of Wasyl Eleniak, one of the first Ukrainian settlers in Canada. She was proud of her heritage and faith, and a devoted wife and mother. Mildred was a gentle lady who spent countless hours as a volunteer with many charities, including the Little Bits Riding Association. She looked forward to family gatherings, opportunities to travel, and coffee visits with friends and neighbours.
Funeral service, co-celebrated by the Basilian Fathers, will be held on June 3, 2025, at 10:30am, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, with private family interment at St. Anthony Cemetery. Donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Chipman, AB, T0B 0W0.
